Eligibility – Open to all dues paid current season (2022/2023) members of the Southern Vancouver Island Tenpin Bowling Association (SVITBA) and Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF).

Entry fee – $35.00 per person per event ($21.00 lineage, $13.50 prize fund, $0.50 expenses).

Prize funds – Returned 100% as cash. Prizes paid to 1 in 5 entries in each event (rounded down). Prizes paid within 30 days after end of tournament (by March 20, 2022).

Events – Bowlers bowl three (3) games per person per event. Total score including handicap wins. Bowlers are not required to bowl all three events to participate; sign-up for any event(s) you like.

  • Singles – All bowlers compete in the same division. One entry per person.
  • Doubles – All pairs complete in the same division. Enter more than once with the same partner (only eligible for one prize) or a different partner (eligible for multiple prizes).
  • Teams – All teams of four compete in the same division. Enter more than once by changing at least one team member. All teams are eligible for prizes.
  • Optional events – If you bowl singles, doubles and teams, use the total of your nine (9) game score. A bowler’s first appearance in each event is used towards the bowler’s all-events total.
    • All Events Handicap – $10.00 per person (100% prize fund) – one division
    • All Events Scratch (i.e., no handicap) – $10.00 per person (100% prize fund) – one division
  • Averages – Tournament Manager will verify all averages. Averages are determined based on the following priority:
    • Highest sanctioned 2021-22 average (i.e., CTF Book Average), based on 21 games or more
    • Highest sanctioned 2022-23 average as of January 29, 2023, based on 21 games or more
      • If a bowler’s current season average is 10 pins or more higher than their CTF Book Average, the current season average is assigned.
    • If no such average is available, an average of 210 is assigned.
    • Bowlers assigned an average are eligible to be removed from the tournament with a full refund of fees.

Handicap – Handicap is set at 100% of 210 (e.g., 210 base – 110 average = 100 * 100% = 100 pins handicap). Bowlers with averages above 210 are not penalized.

Equipment (NEW) – Bowlers are required to use every hole drilled in a bowling ball for every shot. This applies to bowler-owned equipment only. Any “house” bowling ball may be used.
