What is the process for joining or forming a league?

Please contact Langford Lanes directly. Provide them with your name, phone number, and email address to be added to their email list. This ensures you receive notifications for upcoming leagues, including scheduling and formats. They will keep you informed about opportunities to participate in tournaments and events tailored to your preferences.

What is the price of an annual membership?

Annual dues of $35 are required for bowlers sanctioned by CTF (Canadian Tenpin Federation). Additionally, registration fees at Langford Lanes are $25.75 for adult bowlers and $10.50 for senior bowlers and $20.65 for youth bowlers. These fees cover administrative costs and support the facilities and programs offered to members throughout the year.

How can I get involved in coaching or mentoring programs?

Please reach out to the SVITBA board directly. They can provide guidance on how to begin and become a certified coach under the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program). They will outline the steps involved, including training opportunities, certification requirements, and ongoing support to help you develop your coaching skills effectively within the bowling community.

What financial support or sponsorship opportunities are available for bowlers?

SVITBA is actively fundraising through various initiatives and introducing a new sponsorship program. Local businesses are encouraged to participate to increase funding opportunities. Bowlers can contact the board directly to discuss sponsorship possibilities. Each request will be evaluated individually to determine how best to support and enhance the bowling community through these partnerships.

What initiatives are in place to promote youth involvement in bowling?

Youth bowling has experienced significant growth, with participation more than tripling in the last three years. Public outreach efforts include website advertising and offering free youth bowling workshops, enhancing community engagement and promoting the sport among younger generations.

How are decisions made regarding tournament scheduling and formats?

Decisions regarding tournament scheduling and formats are made by the tournament director in coordination with Langford Lanes and other bowling centers to prevent scheduling conflicts. The director then develops the tournament format and establishes rules aligned with CTF regulations. This ensures fair play and consistency while accommodating participant preferences and logistical considerations.
